Lab Spotlight: KONPOLI Nederland

Choosing an album cover can be a surprisingly enjoyable part of the job. Suddenly you are thinking about colours, textures and which photograph deserves a place on the front. KONPOLI Nederland gives you plenty to play with.

Based in Dokkum, with albums handmade in Thessaloniki, Greece, KONPOLI offers a collection built around materials, finishing and personal touches. It is easy to start imagining which album would suit a wedding you have just photographed, or which cover would look good with your studio samples.

Handmade, with room for your own ideas

Amara is a good place to start if you love a photo cover but also want some colour and texture around it. Elani has a small detail we really like: it opens straight onto the first photographic spread, with no separate endpaper. That gives the opening images a lovely job to do. The Art Book is worth a look for a coffee-table style album. It has a printed, textured faux-leather cover with a matte finish, handbound lay-flat spreads and a slipcase, all supplied in gift packaging. It is a complete presentation that could work well for a wedding story or a collection of family photographs.
