Sample Wedding Albums for Photographers: What to Include
October 20, 2026
Create a sample wedding album that showcases your photography and helps clients choose. Practical tips on photos, layouts, covers and presentation.

A sample wedding album lets couples hold the book, feel the cover and see how their photographs could look in print. It also gives you something useful to talk through when they ask, “What would you recommend?” Here’s how to build a studio sample that makes choosing an album easier.
Show the album you recommend most
Start with the size, paper and cover you’d happily suggest to your next client. Match the number of spreads to your usual album offer, too.
That gives you a clear starting point: “This is the album included in your collection.” If your sample includes extras, explain which ones cost more.
Tell one complete wedding story
For your first sample, choose one wedding that reflects your current photography style. Include the setting, preparations, ceremony, portraits, family and celebrations. Give couples a feel for how their own day could unfold across the pages. Include the small reactions and quieter moments alongside your favourite portraits.
In Spreadu, choose your lab and album, upload your photographs and start arranging the spreads. Try different layouts until the story feels right.
Make cover choices easier
Choose a cover you love and would confidently recommend. If your lab offers material swatches, keep them beside the album so couples can feel the alternatives.
One finished book and a few swatches can give them a useful starting point. Add another sample when there’s a specific difference you want to demonstrate, such as another paper finish or a smaller parent album.
Use your sample in client conversations
Bring it to consultations and give couples time to turn the pages. Ask what they like about the size, cover and design.
For online meetings, have it beside you and show a few spreads on camera. A short video of the actual book can also help clients see its scale and how the pages open.
Keep the next step simple: recommend an album, explain what’s included and give them a clear price.
