Cookie Policy

Cookies. The digital kind.

What cookies we use, why we use them, and how to control them. Spoiler: we keep it minimal.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember things about your visit, like your login status or preferences.

We use cookies sparingly. No tracking across the web, no ad networks, no selling your browsing data.

2. Cookies We Use

Essential cookies (always active)

These keep the Service running. Without them, you can't log in or use Spreadu. They can't be disabled.

  • Session cookie: Keeps you logged in while you use Spreadu. Expires when you close the browser or after the session timeout.
  • CSRF token: Protects your account from cross-site request forgery attacks.
  • Cookie consent: Remembers your cookie preferences so we don't ask every time.

Analytics cookies (optional)

These help us understand how people use Spreadu so we can make it better. The data is anonymized and never used to identify you.

  • PostHog: Anonymous usage analytics. Pages visited, features used, performance metrics. No personal identifiers.

3. What We Don't Use

For the record:

  • No advertising cookies
  • No third-party tracking cookies
  • No social media tracking pixels
  • No cross-site tracking of any kind

4. Managing Your Cookies

You have full control over analytics cookies:

  • In Spreadu: Toggle analytics cookies on or off from your account settings
  • In your browser: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Check your browser's help section for instructions.

Keep in mind that blocking essential cookies will prevent Spreadu from working properly. You won't be able to log in or use the Service.

5. Third-Party Services

Our analytics provider (PostHog) may set cookies to collect anonymous usage data. These cookies follow the same rules described above and are covered by our data processing agreements.

We do not allow any other third party to set cookies through our Service.

6. Changes to This Policy

If we change the cookies we use, we'll update this page and reset your cookie preferences so you can make a fresh choice.
